Philip Kanwischer

Why red M&M‘s disappeared for almost a decade

Under the title “Why red M&Mʼs disappeared for almost a decade”, Kanwischer compiles an associative network of narratives and addresses the manipulability of collective perception in times of crisis.

The riso-printed book compiles an associative network of narratives and addresses the manipulability of collective perception in times of crisis. Kanwischer's stories ranging from the invention of Ishihara colour blind test to cold war reverberations in the olympic games and physical examination for the German Military. Every of these sprawling narratives connects differently to a rather inconspicuous event during the cold-war—the discontinuation of red M&M's in the United States.
